A high-speed police chase ended in a dramatic crash over the weekend. Seattle Police (SPD) were in pursuit after a suspected burglary when the suspect drove through a red traffic light and collided with another vehicle. The suspects then attempted to flee from the crashed vehicle, but SPD was able to capture one of the suspects. The other suspect remains at large.
The crash occurred late Sunday night just before 10 p.m. SPD responded to a burglary in progress of a possible illegal marijuana grow house located in the South Precinct. Police say the house was likely burgled due to its reputation as an illegal marijuana grow.
After police arrived at the scene, a car was reported to have quickly fled and was then pursued through the streets of South Precinct. The chase ended in the crash at the intersection of Beacon Avenue South and South Graham Street. Only minor injuries were reported.
Police retrieved a handgun from the suspect’s vehicle.
