A motorcycle crash killed one man on I-5 early Thursday afternoon. Washington State Patrol said the crash occurred after the motorcyclist lost control and crashed on the Michigan Street interstate ramp.
Washington State Patrol officers first received calls about the motorcycle crash just before noon. The responding WSP officers found rider unconscious in nearby grass and suffering serious injuries. CPR was attempted on the man, but he died shortly thereafter at the scene of the motorcycle crash.
Witnesses reported that the motorcyclist was entering the on-ramp of I-5 when the motorcycle crash took place. He apparently lost control, collided with the guardrail, and flipped over into the grass below.
No other vehicles were damaged in the crash and there were no other victims. The southbound Michigan Street on-ramp was closed for several hours after the motorcycle crash.
The identity of the motorcycle crash victim has yet to be released at this time. But he is believed to be a 42-year old resident of Auburn, Washington.
