A multi-vehicle crash, involving as many as 5 cars, left traffic backed up for miles along I-5 last week. Authorities said the multi-vehicle crash even involved a semi-truck trailer.
The multi-vehicle crash took place shortly after 11 a.m. just south of Albro Place and Swift Avenue. The crash left three of I-5’s lanes blocked. Seattle firefighters and emergency responders arrived at the crash to find several victims suffering from non-serious injuries. Two American Medical Response ambulances were needed to transport all of the victims to hospitals and medical facilities to treat their injuries. The crash victim inside is reported to have been a 55-year old man. He was successfully extracted from his vehicle and transported to a local hospital.

One of the vehicles involved in the crash is reported to have rolled over, leaving its occupants trapped inside. Firefighters who responded to the scene were forced to cut the roof off of the vehicle in order to save the crash victims inside.
Traffic along I-5 was reduced to a single lane for hours after the multi-vehicle crash. Traffic was backed up for close to 4 miles behind the crash. The wreckage was eventually cleared in the early afternoon hours and all lanes of traffic were reopened.
