Overview And Experience
Samrach “Sam” Sar is a trial attorney with The Advocates, where he represents injured individuals and families in complex and serious personal injury matters throughout Oregon. Sam brings substantial civil litigation and jury trial experience to his practice, including years spent defending insurers and their policyholders in complex injury cases. That background gives him a practical understanding of how insurance companies evaluate claims, assess risk, and defend lawsuits; insight he now uses to advocate for his clients.
Before joining The Advocates, Sam served as in-house litigation and trial counsel for major insurance companies, where he handled a wide range of civil litigation matters. Sam earned his Juris Doctor from Willamette University College of Law and his undergraduate degree from Portland State University, majoring in Philosophy. During law school, he externed at the Oregon Court of Appeals. He also received the Civil Rights Litigation Honors Award upon graduation. Sam is licensed to practice in Oregon state courts, the United States District Court for the District of Oregon, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and District of Columbia Courts.
Outside of his legal practice, Sam is active in the Oregon legal community, including serving as a board member for the Oregon Asian Pacific American Bar Association. He spends much of his free time with his family, coaching volleyball, and cooking newly discovered dishes from his foodie travels.
