Nominate an Advocate Athlete

Recognizing girls leading beyond the game

Every season, there are girls in our community who lead on and off the field. You might know her as the girl who mentors younger players, rallies neighbors around a cause, builds a program from scratch, and champions for change with the same heart she brings to competition. She’s a fierce athlete and a fearless advocate.

We created the Advocate Athlete program to recognize her impact.

In partnership with the Seattle Storm and Seattle Reign FC, The Advocates launched this program to celebrate amateur female athletes in the greater Seattle area who demonstrate leadership through both sport and service. In 2026, four honorees will be awarded for their commitment to volunteerism, mentorship, activism, or community involvement — and for embodying what it looks like to compete with purpose.

$2500 Towards Her Cause

Each winner will receive a grant of $2500 towards her cause as well as a premium experience (each, a “Premium Experience”) at one of the following Seattle Reign and Seattle Storm home games:

  • Seattle Storm v. Portland Fire: Friday, Aug. 14 @ 7p
  • Seattle Storm v. Los Angeles Sparks: Sunday, Aug. 30 @ 2p
  • Seattle Reign v. Angel City FC: Sunday, Aug. 9 @ 6p
  • Seattle Reign v. San Diego Wave: Sunday, Sep. 6 @ 6p
  • Seattle Reign v. Bay FC: Saturday, Sep. 12 @ 5p

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal nominee is a girl in the greater Seattle area who is active in her sport and invested in her community. She doesn’t need a title or a platform — only a track record of showing up for others.

We’re looking for nominees who demonstrate one or more of the following:

  • Community service and volunteerism: organized drives, ongoing service work, or hands-on involvement in causes that benefit others
  • Mentorship: guiding younger athletes, peers, or community members through coaching, tutoring, or informal leadership
  • Advocacy and activism: speaking up for equity, inclusion, or justice in the broader community
  • Positive local impact: measurable change or meaningful contribution to a neighborhood, school, or organization

Nominees should be based in the greater Seattle area, actively participating in any amateur sport at any level 6th-12th grade, and have demonstrated community involvement within the last year.

Know her? Nominate her.
