If you read this blog very often, you’ll notice that this one is a little different… it’s not about driving, or car accidents. It’s about a pretty personal and serious subject. I’ve got to tell you, the announcement made by The Advocates this week is exciting to me. So I’m doing something really unusual here and writing a blog post with a bit more of a personal viewpoint today. I’m talking about the thousands of women out there whose lives have been changed by the complications following vaginal mesh or bladder sling implants — by what was presented to us as an easy, simple solution for a very personal problem.
Have you had children? Are you in your 40s or older? Have things “down there” maybe “loosened up” a little? How long had it been since you could jump on a trampoline without worries?
If you have talked about to your OB-GYN about stress urinary incontinence or pelvic organ prolapse he/she may have offered a same-day-surgical solution known as transvaginal mesh, bladder sling, or bladder mesh. You were probably excited at the possibility of improvement it could make to your lifestyle. Maybe you even thought about how much better the intimate parts of your relationship could be.
The problem is, the manufacturers didn’t tell us everything they knew about their own products. They didn’t tell the doctors, or the hospitals, or even the patients. It wasn’t until the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) started getting enough complaints that they noticed and began investigating. There were terrible side effects and complications that no one saw coming, except of course the pharmaceutical manufacturers who sold a lot of mesh implants and bladder slings to the unsuspecting public — US. Women were suffering from pain, internal bleeding, organ and nerve injury, erosion of the mesh, urinary problems and more, all as a result of these mesh implants.
So, even though the lawsuits have been around for years, and we’ve heard those obnoxious commercials on TV and radio urging us to sign on with huge national law firms back east or somewhere, this is different, and I’ll tell you why:
We’re The Advocates at Driggs Bills & DayWe do things differently. You will never be just a number to us. Your attorney will know your name and return your calls. We are taking cases in Washington, Idaho, and Utah, where we live. We have offices in Seattle, Washington and across Utah. We will travel to you, we will return your calls, we will answer your questions, we will respond to your fears and concerns.
Not kidding, these cases are huge. There are thousands and thousands of plaintiffs (victims) for these transvaginal mesh cases. There are so many claims that they have been combined into what are called ‘mass torts’ or maybe a more familiar word is ‘class-action’ court cases.
You need to hurry though. Time is running out to file a claim, and we don’t want all the local women and their families to miss the chance to be compensated for their pain and suffering, medical procedures, and emotional issues that have changed lives after what seemed like such a simple medical procedure.
Call us, and talk to a woman one-on-one about your situation. We’ll help you determine whether you have a claim or not.
I didn’t mean for this post to be an ad, or a sales pitch. I just wanted to reach out to all the women out there in Idaho, Utah or Washington who had a mesh or sling implant and haven’t been attracted to those slick late-night 800 CALL-NOW ads. You deserve compensation. Those big pharmaceutical companies have already set aside billions and billions of dollars to pay their victims.
