Here are a few winter driving tips from The Advocates Law:
First, make sure your tires have enough tread, or get winter/snow tires.
Second, get your vehicle serviced and all fluids checked and ready for winter driving.
Third, stock up the emergency supplies in your vehicle. Make sure you have things like extra blankets, snacks, and drinks, along with maybe an emergency power supply/jump-starter, extra cell-phone batteries, a shovel, flashlight, things like that.
Fourth, SLOW DOWN! Winter driving in Seattle might mean black ice, snow, sleet, wind or other winter weather. Check the weather reports, traffic and road conditions before leaving home, and plan for extra time so you can SLOW DOWN!
Fifth, make sure you and your passengers are buckled up, in the correct car-seat or restraint. If you are the driver, avoid distractions. You’ll need a longer distance to stop, extra time to make lane changes or obey traffic signals. You can’t afford distractions.
