A collision involving two semi trucks injured three people Wednesday of last week. The semi truck crash occurred shortly before 9:30 in the morning near the intersection of Interstate 5 and Interstate 705 in Tacoma.
Multiple witnesses told Washington State Patrol troopers that the semi truck crash was caused after a green semi truck jumped a curb, veered into oncoming traffic entering I-705, and then collided with a second semi truck entering the State Route 7 on-ramp. The second semi truck was colored red.
Three people were injured in the semi truck crash. Both drivers were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment and a third victim was treated at the scene of the crash. One of the drivers was trapped in the semi truck following the crash and had to be released by firefighters with extrication equipment. Both drivers suffered serious injuries following the semi truck crash.

Traffic along Interstate 705 was snarled for hours after the crash since the road remained shuttered until mid afternoon. The wreckage from the semi truck accident wasn’t cleared until close to noon. I-705 wasn’t reopened until later due to needed repairs to the center line barrier.
The semi truck crash is currently being investigated by Washington State Patrol.
