A crash near the Renton Highlands seriously injured a driver Monday night. Renton Police said the crash was likely caused by excessive speeding.
The Renton police officers who arrived at the scene said the speeding driver struck the second vehicle, rolled over and over, and then struck a nearby light pole. The driver of the speeding vehicle was rushed to Harborview Medical Center where he was treated for life-threatening injuries. The other driver is reported to be uninjured.

Renton Police responded to the reported accident at Duvall Avenue NE and NE 4th Street near a Starbucks cafe at around 9:30 pm Monday night. 4th Street was closed for over three hours following the crash.
The driver of the speeding vehicle has not been charged at this time.
