A pedestrian died after being hit in an accident caused by a suspected DUI driver early Wednesday evening. Detectives from the King County Sheriff’s Office said the occurred on the southbound side of International Boulevard.
Witnesses notified police the driver had been driving aggressively shortly before he struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was believed to be walking across International Boulevard when he was hit with enough force to send his body hurtling over a nearby fence. Bystanders attempted to revive the pedestrian with CPR but were unsuccessful. He died hours later at Harborview Medical Center.

After hitting the pedestrian, the driver, 25, was arrested and will have his blood drawn to test whether he was intoxicated at the time of the accident. After hitting the pedestrian the driver allegedly struck a car and then rear-ended another one before finally coming to a stop. No further injuries were reported from these collisions. The driver will likely be charged with vehicular homicide, said Sergeant Ryan Abbot.
The King County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
