Two people died Monday afternoon in a tragic Labor Day accident. The accident happened on an overpass on Interstate 90 not far from Ellensburg, Washington.
Washington State Patrol said a motor home with a trailer lost control after a tire blew out. The motor home veered across two lanes of traffic, collided with a guardrail, and flipped over several times before coming to rest in a shallow creek. Local police confirmed that two people were killed in the accident, a child and an adult.
The motor home accident occurred just after 3:30 p.m. not far from the 110 milepost of Interstate 90. The accident victims were later identified as Lois Edelbrock, 61, who died at the scene, and Kaci Edelbrock, 6, who died later at Kittitas Valley Healthcare Hospital.

Several other passengers were severely injured in the accident, including Michael Edelbrock, 62, who, along with Lane Edelbrock, 15, was transported by helicopter to Harborview Medical Center for treatment, Jessica Edelbrock, 41, and Chase Edelbrock, both of whom were also treated at Harborview, and Cody Edelbrock, 13, and Hank Edelbrock, 6, were flown by helicopter to Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital.
All of the accident victims are believed to be from Snohomish and Monroe, Washington.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident. I-90 was closed until 9 p.m. Monday night while police investigated the cause of the accident and tow trucks cleared the wreckage.
The motor home was later identified as being a 40-foot 2007 Beaver model motorhome. Nine members of the Edelbrock family were in the motor home at the time of the accident.
