Washington State Patrol (WSP) reports that a Bremerton man was struck and killed in the aftermath of a minor accident early Tuesday evening. WSP says a man collapsed for unknown reasons on State Route 3, just three miles south of Bremerton and was then struck by an unrelated vehicle. The man was later identified as 52-year old Leroy Hunter.
The patrol report states that Hunter was “standing in the roadway after being involved in a two-car non-injury collision.” Hunter is reported to have collapsed on the highway pavement and was quickly hit by a 2014 Chrysler 300 as it traveled southbound along Route 3. The driver of the Chrysler 300 was identified as Carolyn Young of Allyn, Washington. She was uninjured from the accident.
Washington State Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the accident and the fatality.
